As the 2021-2022 school year at Loretto Academy in El Paso ends, Mary Beth (Buffy) Boesen is retiring as president. She came for the 2000-2001 school year as interim president, fell in love with the El Paso/Juarez Loretto Academy extended community and stayed, leading Loretto Academy for 22 years.

As Buffy announced her retirement to faculty, staff, students, families, alums, board of trustee members, donors and El Paso/Juarez community members, she shared, “My years at Loretto have been full of laughter, happiness, joy and even a few trials. I have learned so much from all of you.”

During the weekend of May 21 and 22, members from the extended Loretto Academy community (students, parents, families, El Paso/Juarez community members, alums and others), as well as family and friends, will have opportunities to attend farewell gatherings, thanking Buffy for her years of leadership and service grounded in the four Loretto values of faith, community, justice and respect.

Let’s celebrate Buffy’s accomplishments at Loretto and her new retirement journey!
