We bless them, but more importantly, they bless us with the gift of themselves, gifts that have touched the lives of every Loretto member and all those they have served and do serve to this day.
“There is a quiet light that shines in every heart,” wrote the poet John O’Donohue in his book “To Bless the Space Between Us: A Book of Blessings.” If you knew each of the women we celebrate as jubilarians this year, you would see the “light in every heart.” Their journey, made in the light of God, has taken them from classroom to mentor, from leadership to artist, from writer to caregiver, to social worker to episcopal priest, to community service and retirement. And the list goes on …
To all our Jubilarians, we say, “May the gifts you have shared all your life come back to bless you abundantly. May the peace that abides in your heart be a sacred gift to you for the rest of your days.”
And in response we shout with joy, “Amen!”
