My name is Maribah Ishaq from Pakistan. I have been with the Sisters of Loretto since March 2020. Before coming to the convent, I was a teacher and taught English, Urdu, computers, science and religion to third-to-eighth graders for 11 years at a Presentation school in Jhelum, Pakistan.
While with the Sisters of Loretto I also taught at St. Anthony School in Lahore, Pakistan. I came to the United States in 2022 for my first-year novitiate in the InterCongregational Collaborative Novitiate Program at Catholic Theological Union (CTU) in Chicago. After completing my first-year novitiate I went back to Pakistan to my former community and started my second-year novitiate.
In March 2024, I came back to the United States and pronounced my first vows on June 23, 2024. I am involved now in a master’s program in pastoral studies at CTU. I started classes Sept. 3, 2024.
